Last week the Cincinnati Planning Commission approved the development of a large residential development, reports WPCO.com, who goes on to say that the new housing estate could have up to 700 residences for single-family, multi-family and senior living.

"They paved over paradise and put up a housing plot"

Kenner collectors take note, Neyer Properties, the developer behind the proposal, could break ground on the 30-acre new suburb - called Three Oaks - north-east of downtown Cincinnati as early as June.

The new estate replaces the derelict factory site which served as Kenner's "morgue" where the company stored all of its concept toys, original art work and packaging prototypes until Hasbro took ownership of the building and its contents in 1991, and was the location of the famous dumpster diving expedition attended by local fanboys John Wooten and Dustin Roberts. The housing development will have retirement accommodation, so ageing Star Wars fans might find a truly spiritual resting place.
