Whether or not you're a hockey fan, if you're reading this, it's a good bet that you're a Star Wars collector, so you may be interested to know that the US under-17 hockey team is auctioning more than 20 game worn Star Wars-themed jerseys.
Welcome to USA Hockey-MeiGray Group's National Team Development Program Star Wars Night-Themed Jersey Auction.

USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, based in Plymouth, Michigan, is a full-time development program to prepare student-athletes under the age of 17 for participation on U.S. National Teams and success in their future hockey careers.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team, part of USA Hockey's NTDP, plays a full schedule that includes games against United States Hockey League opponents and international competition in three tournaments over the course of the year.

On January 28, 2017 the U.S. National Under-17 Team took to the ice wearing Star Wars-themed jerseys (featuring BB-8) against the USHL's Tri-City Storm at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan. Tri-City defeated Team USA, 4-3.

One set of Stars Wars-themed jerseys and socks were produced for the game. There are 21 game-worn jerseys, 1 game-issued jersey, five game-ready numbered jerseys with no name on back, 21 pairs of game-worn socks, and 8 pairs of game-issued socks that are up for auction. An additional six jerseys were manufactured that were sent to Lucasfilm for its archives.

The jerseys are manufactured by SP Apparel. The set of jerseys was collected after the game by Team USA's equipment staff. Each jersey offered in auction has been security-tagged with an individually serial-numbered USA Hockey-MeiGray Authentication Program inventory tag.

Proceeds will benefit C.S. Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI.
