The X-Wing Pilot Asty was revealed on October 7, 2015 at Hasbro's invite-only 'Twas The Night Before... Party held in private space in Midtown New York the night before the New York Comic Con. This figure, along with the First Order Snowtrooper and First Order General Hux hit shelves at across North America as part of The Black Series 6-inch action figure collection in December 2015.

Paint Design Change
- Very early in its production, Hasbro opted to change the paint design on the X-Wing Pilot Asty figure. The original design featured black paint on the Ejection Harness straps and didn't have the light grey around the Republic logo on the helmet like the later released version.
