Beginning in 2006, Hasbro began producing Expanded Universe figures again with a vengeance. The figures were paired up in a two-pack that retailed for approximately $10, and included a reprint of a comic book. The book is usually the basis for the figures design. While some of these sets feature repaints of existing figures in the "style" of the comic book (issues #2-4), others feature the first rendition of popular Expanded Universe characters, such as Quinlan Vos, Vilmarh Grahk, or A'sharad Hett.
Several of these packs were reissued in the line over the various incarnations of the packaging. As of December 2009, there were several rumors of the cancellation of the line. Several other rumored two packs were still due to be released at this point.
