After several years without releasing Star Wars products in the 12-inch figure scale, Hasbro returned to the format in 2012 with limited articulation, all-plastic figures which featured a lower price point and few, if any, accessories.

The Hasbro 2013 12-inch Anakin Skywalker figure was an exact re-release of the 2012 Episode III Revenge of the Sith Anakin 12" figure, with revised packaging graphics to match the reaching/crawling Darth Vader motif emblazoned across the brand that year. This was the final packaging design before the Rebels animated series graphics debuted internationally in 2014. First announced at the 2013 International Toy Fair in New York City, this repackaged Anakin 12-inch figure was released in the U.S. in the early Summer of that same year for a suggested retail price of $9.99. Points of articulation include swivel joints at the neck, hips, wrists, and shoulders. The hilt of Anakin's lightsaber is molded to the figure's right-hand, and features a removable transparent blue lightsaber blade.
