Since 1999 the Star Wars Celebration conventions have encompassed virtually all aspects of Star Wars fandom and the wide world of Star Wars collecting has been particularly well-represented with the inclusion of the Star Wars Collecting Track.

Spearheaded by Gus Lopez and his team from the Star Wars Collectors Archive, the Collecting Track simply started out as panel discussions?that were led by experts in the hobby and covered?a variety of collecting topics. Never a group to rest on their laurels, the team grew the quality of the track to feature displays of holy grail-level collectibles, author signings, auctions, social meet and greets and, in a brilliant stroke of genius, the perfect thing that whets a collector's whistle - exclusive collectibles for those who attended.

From trading cards to medallions to Star Tots, these exclusives have been sponsored by and paid for by the collecting community, for the collecting community. They have created fervor and excitement amongst ardent collectors from around the world and become highly sought-after and valuable collectibles in their own right. They are a testament to the ingenuity and strength of the collecting community and are a brilliant addition to any collection.?

Back before the world wide web and social media ruled our shopping habits there was a long-established practice of driving around all the nearby toy stores to hunt down the latest releases. Obviously times have changed and online retail is far more important than it was twenty-five years ago - but has it killed the toy run? What was your shopping experience over the Triple Force Friday product launch weekend?
I managed to find everything I wanted in stores!
I found some but had to resort to big box websites to complete my haul.
I didn't bother stepping outside and ordered everything online.
I haven't bought any of the TFF product yet. Roll on clearance sales.
I'm waiting for the TV series/movie release before I commit.
I've so over it, no more Star Wars collecting for me.
