Revealed at their booth at the 2014 Toy Soul event on December 17, 2014, Hot Toys' MMS279 Darth Vader promised to do its one job: break your heart. They followed this reveal with a full gallery and product information on the A New Hope version of the Sith Lord twelve days later. The figure went up for North American pre-order the following day. The one who would bring balance to the Force began shipping in December, 2015.
