When it was revealed in February 2012, the Jumbo Kenner Gamorrean Guard came completely out of left field. Up until that point, Gentle Giant Ltd. had only announced, produced, and released figures based on the 1978-1979 classic Kenner figures. In August 2012 Gentle Giant announced the Premier Guild Members exclusive version of this figure which featured The Power Of The Force card back and pack in coin. Both versions of the figure began shipping in February 2013.
