First mentioned right here on June 6, 2012, Hasbro officially announced the Toys "R" Us exclusive rerelease of the 2008 Legacy Collection Millennium Falcon a month later as part of The Vintage Collection in their presentation at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. While the packaging was brand new, Hasbro kept their promise not to alter a single thing inside the box. Every detail, including the instruction manual is a perfect match for the original 2008 release. This time out, for reasons never made clear, the big playset was $100 more expensive, making it a very slow sell at TRU.
