Like many Star Wars collectors, I love it when Hasbro releases a new 3 3/4" Jedi figure. Unlike many collectors, I am not interested in the Expanded Universe figures. However, there is one EU figure that I'd love to see, and that is Jedi Knight Leia Organa. What do you think?
  -Vallis

I think ya missed a memo. In late 1998, as part of the second wave of Expanded Universe, Hasbro/Kenner (then Kenner) released a Leia as she appeared in the Dark Empire comics, when she was in the midst of Jedi training. She includes a black cloak, a red lightsaber, a blaster, and comes with a really great looking outfit for all your non-movie display needs.

(Y'see, this is where being interested helps. We do have a wicked-cool [as the kids say] photo archive with pretty much every POTF2-and-beyond figure ever made in it, so it's well worth a look when penning your lists of the "wouldn't it be cool if" nature.)

Help me out on this one. I came across an X-ray series scale of an Imperial Shuttle that's gold plated in a display case. The case also has in it a gold Imperial Emblem. I'm looking for the when, where, and how much of this thing. When was it ever available? Where was it sold? How much did it originally retail for?
  -Cliff

This item was sold in-- I believe-- 1997 as an FAO exclusive that went for about a hundred bucks.

Later, it and its two counterparts were released to QVC for under $30 per.

Today, these show up randomly for pretty nice-an'-cheap prices at a variety of stores. I still need to snag this one, I've got the other two (X-Wing & Slave I, Falcon & Vader's TIE.)

this is about the 2002 action fleet, will Hasbro bring back the last 3 classic star wars action fleet?
  -Deborah

The question is still "Will Hasbro definitely bring back Action Fleet?"

The answer is still unknown. Considering the lead time in making a toy, I would assume a statement outta Hasbro anytime soon would mean it's gonna happen. But as of yet, there's no official statements of which I've been made aware.

So stay tuned an' stuff.

So you say you like the Expanded Universe vehicles. Over the summer, on a trip to NYC I freaked when I came across a TRU with tons of figures that never made it here to Canada. I also got excited when I found among those, an EU Cloud Car and an A-Wing( for dirty-dirt cheap), which I'd been wanting since they came out. I was totally disgusted to find that Kenner made no effort to fit the enclosed figures securely into the cockpit. Turn the vehicles sideways, and Dudener spills sideways and all around. Turn an A-Wing upside down, and the cockpit falls open under the flopsy pilot's weight! To say nothing of vehicles that can't accomodate some figures ( Chewies and the Falcon). Doesn't anyone at Hasbro/Kenner meetings say, " Umm, guys? The figure doesn't fit."...?

Does the EU Snowspeeder do the same thing? Do you still like EU vehicles?
  -Chris

While the Cloud Car does have a problem with the figure moving around, I think it's due to the small figure more than anything else. (I used to keep a Boushh Leia in there, don't recall any problems as such.)

Figures don't always fit nice an' tight in the cockpits, this is true. But it's part of the toy world... sometimes they fit well, sometimes they don't. As long as they fit, they can typically be positioned to not shuttle around too much.

The EU Airspeeder, to the best of my rememberage (it's a word, look it up) fits quite well. And yes, I still like EU vehicles. (What, you thought this would change my opinion?)

Any word as to whether the upcoming Dagobah Vader will have a removable head? That would be an awesome feature, don't you think? Also, how about the upcoming classic Kenobi--will it come with the lightsaber training remote, as I saw pictured somewhere way back when?
  -John

I saw a pic at Yakface a while back that did have a removable headed Vader. So unless something changes in production (and it has been known to happen), it will probably still be removable. It's attatched via a peg, not a magnet or anything cool like that.

As far as Ben goes, no images have ever surfaced of a 4" scale non-custom training remote, and Hasbro mentioned early on that he would not include this accessory. Sorry! I wanted one too.

Just wondering, does the Boomer-damaged Battle Droid look completely lame to you? I mean, at first I thought it would be a battle droid in maybe that cool phalanx pose or just kinda collapsing but with added blue energy marks. Instead, we're given this goofy "armor" crap.
  -Jose

I like it. The removable energy stuff is kinda cool, a neat change from the typical "let's just paint on the damage" kind of thing I'm used to.

7
I just wanted to know how you felt about Hasbro's discontinuation of Cinema Scenes? Personally, I think that the Cinema Scenes are great!
  -Dave

Likewise. I really liked them, but one of the three Episode One packs totally sucked, one was totally awesome, and one was much better than it's given credit for being. (And most of the classic ones were great.)

It sucks, but as long as the line continues in some form, I can do without three-packs.

Hi! I have the helmets replica from the RIDDELL compagny and i was wondering if there is only 5 of them or more and if they are planning to do more of these incredibles pieces? I have the stormtrooper, Bobba Fett, Darth Vader, C3PO, and the x-wing pilot
  -steeveg

Sadly, only five of these items were released. Others were nearing production, namely a TIE Pilot that came REAL close, but they just never happened. They probably would have sold better had the price been lower.

9
What's the word on the street regarding the 12" Maul/Vader 2-pack coming out? Are these resculpts or the previous versions of the figures repackaged?
  -Hans

From the detail pics I've seen, Vader's got some new gimmicks, so he's more or less a new figure/resculpt. Maul... Maul I wasn't quite sure. Most likely a resculpt.

I was recently sent a picture of a SW fiure from the vintage line. it was Yoda...BUT, this had a GREEN snake around it's neck. Now,i dunno if this is legit or not, but i've seen this thing mentioned on palitoy.com before. I've included the picture i was sent (from a chap in Germany). Was this another Euro tri-logo thing (if real), or just a handy customizers work?
  -Toad

Well, I've never seen or heard of it. (Or the green smock Ugnaughts so many people have asked about.) Since it says 'New and green/brown", I would wager it's... new. Most likely a custom job, but unless it is packaged, it'd be tough to tell if it is or isn't a bootleg.

Got questions? Send 'em in.

The show... was awesome. So awesome, I have a favor to ask.

The Spoozys, an awesome, so awesome, amazingly awesome Japanese rock band opened the show, and I got a chance to talk to them briefly afterward. They showed me their first CD and offered it for $15. I had spent all my cash on other merch. Long story short: I did not get the CD.

So when I came home, I found out it was released in 1998 and is now out of print. Most places that typically would stock it don't, so I ask of you who have made it this far a small favor (and I'd make it worth your while if you can help.) If you go to one of their upcoming shows and can buy this off of them, if you know someone in Japan who can go to a store and buy it, or anything like that: there's a nice finder's fee and/or some free SW stuff in it for ya.

It's entitled "The Existance of Super Earth" and again, thanks a bunch to anybody who can help on this one.

Lesse, what else... update on Wednesday, POTJ figures have shown up at a lot of K-Marts, the new GI Joe: Real American Hero line has started showing up (just vehicles so far), and I scored this awesome Playmobil space robot figure thing for four bucks at the mall the other day. Pretty goofy, more "50's sci-fi" than "Star Wars", but it's definitely worth it if you like offbeat robot toys. (And who doesn't?)
