Celebration Anaheim 2015 Collecting Track Gift
One of the ways the Collecting Track acknowledges the efforts of everyone who assists with it in some way is to give them a gift. For Anaheim the gift was created as a fun extension to the Star Tots themselves and their original life as never-realized Kenner toys. Taking a cue from some early Kenner Star Wars play sets, which were merely cardboard backdrops, a boxed set of 2 backdrops was developed from artwork created specifically for these sets by Bill Cable. The worlds of Hoth and Bespin took form in the shape of die-cut backdrops and included 10 plastic Star Tots stands so that the characters could be posed in each environment. The Special Offer inclusion of the Freeze Chamber was a nod to the Kenner promotions of the vintage period and added an extra layer of collecting nostalgia to the set. Only 100 of these sets were created for people associated with the Collecting Track including presenters, sponsors, volunteers, artists, and others.
