ROMBA | |
Source: Date Stamp: 1985 Release Date: 1985 Carded Availability: Power of the Force Tri-Logo Assortment No. : 93730 Retail: $2.99 Weapons and Accessories: Point of Interest: This figure debuted in the United States on The Power Of The Force card, and in Europe on the Tri-Logo card. It was never packaged on a Canadian card. The Tri-Logo card back inexplicably features a picture of Paploo in place of one of Romba. |
Comments: Romba was a good looking Ewok and he knew it. When compared to all his mates, he’s the only one who doesn’t look like a creepy pint-sized rag-wearing bear with a sharp stick, a fact that likely makes him popular with all the Ewok hotties. Maybe that’s why this handsome pint-sized rag-wearing bear with a sharp stick always had a smile on his face.
Major Variations: Though all vintage figures have minor variations, the Romba action figure may have a very major variation. Though not much is known about the origin of it, there is at least one known example of a Romba figure moulded in very dark brown plastic. At this point there is not enough information known about the origin of this figure to state that it is a legitimate production variation or a prototype. * Seemingly the same, the spear that comes with Romba is a different sculpt than the one packed with Wicket W. Warrick. It is, however, very difficult to identify one from the other, and generally considered one and the same. Text & Photography by D. Martin Myatt. |
