Here we go again! The excitement and anticipated frenzy of April 23rd is almost upon us. The Midnight Madness event, just like jumping in line for a Star Wars movie months before, has become a tradition for collectors and fans. Although you can probably find these toys with little effort the next few days after, it’s about the celebration and the event, which in itself has become a fabled part of Star Wars collecting culture. This is what inspires collectors to fill up on caffeine and brave the elements to lay the defiant claim that “YES, I was there! I was one of the FIRST!” Needless to say, Star Wars collecting is not only about the movies and the merchandise, but the experience.

What was it like the first time around, back 1999 when the excitement for The Phantom Menace was reaching its fever pitch? Click here for the original TRU Midnight Madness store report from our own Philip Wise. For a listing of the TRU stores that will be participating in this year's festivities, click here.

This year Rebelscum has compiled a Shopping Guide for your April 23rd reference. We encourage all collectors to follow the Collect to Collect credo and help out your fellow Star Wars enthusiasts whenever possible. We wish you well on your quest and hail upon you the mantra that echoes through every collector’s mind when preparing the search for their plastic prey…Happy Hunting!
