I really cannot believe this! I'd like to thank all the individuals that voted and all the web sites that put their effort and resources behind my campaign! I couldn't have done this without you! I'd also like to thank Philip Wise, who suggested I belonged in this race in the first place, Chris H. for the amazing graphics support, and Jay Shepard for writing all that crazy stuff. I'd like to think that I did more than just win a campaign to become Fan Club President. I feel that I tapped into something deep within all the Star Wars fans. That sense of community we all share. I can run into someone at a convention, and as soon as I find out that they're a Star Wars fan, there's an instant connection. We share something greater than the sum of our experiences. As I've said all along, the community of the fans, that's something that's important to me, and I think it's important to you too. So make sure that next time we see each other, at the San Diego Comic Con, Celebration IV or online, just remember we're not so different. This Fan Club belongs to you, the fans, and by taking part in this community, you help ensure that Star Wars really is forever! From Philip: This weekend, General Grievous' voice attended our Scifiexpo here in Dallas. He had this little message to offer up to Dustin just before returning home... Congratulations Dustin! |
