In 1981, a surprising thing happened. Two of the most powerful and influential directors in Hollywood decided to release an adventure movie together. They called it Raiders of the Lost Ark, and it featured teacher/archaeologist, Indiana Jones.
To go along with the film, Marvel Comics, creators of the Star Wars comics at the time, created a film adaptation. This process continued for the other films in the original Indiana Jones trilogy, plus they started a monthly series, The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones which lasted 34 issues and filled in many more adventures of this action hero.

Dark Horse took over the reigns of the Indiana Jones franchise in 1992. The published a series of mini-series with more exciting adventures. This lasted until 1996. In 2008 Dark Horse started up their popular Omnibus program reprinting these issues in the new TPB format. They have also prepared a film adaptation for the upcoming 4th Indiana Jones film, The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
These Young Indiana Jones Chronicles books reprint the first 6 issues of the Dark Horse Young Indy series. Each book contains two issues, Curse of the Jackal (with issue #1 & 2), Search for the Oryx (containing issue #3 & 4) and Peril of the Fort (holding issues #5 & 6), and was published through Hollywood Comics as part of the Disney Cartoon tales banner.
