According to the inside cover, the events in this issue takes place 20+ years after the Battle of Yavin.
The Union series is rife with in-jokes, cameos and celebrity look-alikes. We will do our best to identify them here.
Page 2 — The characters seen in this nightmare include Iella Wessiri, Mirax Terrik, Leia Organa Solo, Kueller (from The New Rebellion novel), Jabba the Hutt, Chewbacca, Admiral Dalla, Wedge Antilles, Han Solo, Tarkin, Ysanne Isard, Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Page 4 — While the previous issue made Takkar look more like Sylvester Stallone (at least in close-up), this issue makes him appear more like Fargo actor Peter Stormare, which works out great since Dantra is still a Steve Buscemi look-alike. Sumptor looks even more like actor Bruce Campbell in this scene.
The slingball players are members of Champion Squadron.
Mara awakens from a horrible dream, similar to Luke's from the previous issue. She thinks that it may be an omen or something or someone who wants the wedding to fail.
Meanwhile the ex-Imperials are plotting how they will destroy Mara and Luke. Takkar is furious that Sumptor allowed Skywalker to live through the bar brawl, but the Moff's wife has an even better plan. She suggests that they find out who is designing the dress and send Apla in to kill her.
During this, the women, which includes Winter, Iella, Tionne, Leia. Mara and Mirax, all relax at the spa discussing final plans for the ceremony, and what problems their husbands got into at the bar brawl previously. The all agree that even with the love for their families they all prefer some action, and decide to challenge some other spa patrons in a game of slingball.
Elsewhere the men, including Luke, Han, Wedge, Corran, Kam, and Tycho, are trying on their suits for the wedding and discussing the finer points of marriage; that is dealing with the overprotectiveness of their wives.
Anlys Takkar, using her keen intellect, deduces which dress designer on Coruscant Mara must be using, and sends Chik Apla off to do his dirty work.
Mara departs her friends after a hard-fought, and exhausting game of slingball, which leaves the opponents in a heap on the ground. She visits Jari'kyn's shop to try on her dress. Moments after she finished, Apla, dressed in his Imperial Guardsman uniform crashes in. Clearly not suspecting to find Mara here, she takes him by surprise and disables him with her lightsaber.
Later, Luke cannot believe Mara when she says than nothing eventful happened during the day. He goes on to express his concern for the two of them given their foreboding dreams. They agree that because of their love for each other, their marriage cannot fail, and that the dreams are just that, dreams.
Having another plan backfire, Moff Takkar unveils his final plan to his cohorts. He instructs Vanar to hire on some more swoopies, he tells Sumptor to woo the wedding coordinator to get all the details of the event, Dantra is to go into the sewers to find an entrance into the wedding. Meanwhile, his wife will use her skills, and the Moff himself will handle the remaining items, such as gathering weapons, transports and anything else they need.
