This oversized comic, sometime called a Treasury Edition, reprints Star Wars #4-6 in their entirety. It removes any credits but keeps the chapter titles intact. There are no regular ads in the issue, but there is one page, just prior to Chapter Six, that lists the cast and crew of the film, plus the last page is an ad for issue #7, the continuing adventures of the film.
The inside front and back covers have black and white stills from the film. They are they main cast at the award ceremony on Yavin IV; and a behind-the-scenes shot of Alec Guiness and George Lucas sitting in chairs while shooting in Tunisia. Plus the back cover also contains a dedication to George Lucas from Roy and Howard.
The splash page is a pin-up of Luke and Leia swinging over the Death Star chasm. The next two pages feature new art and text, recapping the events of the previous issue. The pin-ups are drawn by Howard Chaykin and Ernie Chan, according to the last three pages of The Marvel Comics Illustrated Version of Star Wars.
This issue comes in two cover variants. One with just a number and price box that has the Curtis Circulation Corp. logo and 02385. The other does not have the CCC and number, but a large Whitman 'W' instead. The contents of each issue is the same.
No actual month is listed for this 1977 issue. We know that it was published after issue #6 of the monthly series, and is a quarterly publication (according to the indicia). The second to last page of issue #1 notes that 'Star Wars Treasury #2' will be 'On Sale in October', plus the last page indicates that Star Wars #7 is on sale now.
