COMMENTS
Paperback book sized adaptation of The Empire Strikes Back. Notable because it includes the original version of Yoda as drawn by Al Williamson. This issue was published prior to the film and the final design for the Jedi Master was revealed. The issues of the Star Wars monthly corrected the artwork as did the reprints for Marvel Super Special #16 and Marvel Special Edition vol. 2 #2. This book also has different coloring than later versions, such as Lando wearing a green shirt, rather than is normal blue one.

The artwork is also laid out specifically for the paperback medium, with 2-3 panels per page. The splash page is the same artwork from the back cover, recolored and including a large Darth Vader image behind the characters, which was also used as interior cover images in Marvel Super Special #16 and Marvel Special Edition vol. 2 #2, and the splash page in issue #39.
