According to the inside cover, the events in this issue takes place 18 months after the Battle of Geonosis.
A screen in the background of the Zaadjan facility has the schematic for the Death Star on it, similar to the hologram seen in Attack of the Clones.
The tunnel that Master Tohno sneeks into the facility contains dozens of dead Mandalorian commandos. It seems that a vocal poster on the Dark Horse Community Message boards, who was very adamant about the Mandalorian contributions during the Clone Wars continually harrased group editor Randy Stradley about the fact that none had been seen. This was his concession to that individual.
On the snowy outer rim world of Zaadja, the Republic has brought in its forces to destroy a new droid manufacturing facility erected by the Separatists. Obi-Wan Kenobi is trying to tell Anakin Skywalker their initial scouting plans, but the young padawan is distracted by the beautiful Master Tohno.
Obi-Wan chides Anakin for his crush, but Skywalker tells his master that he actually was thinking how young she was and that she should not be being sent on a mission such as this. The three Jedi climb a nearby rock formation and spy their objective off in the distance.
Master Tohno sees no Geonosians around the facility, making her job of infiltration easier. She takes the explosives from Anakin, who is shocked that she will be going into this alone. She tells him not to worry; she will not throw her life away needlessly.
Anakin and Obi-Wan depart to plan their diversion. They will allow Master Tohno to infiltrate the base, and using her engineering knowledge she will plant the explosives that will bring down the entire facility. They hop on their speeder bikes leading battalions of clones in a massive frontal assault of the complex while Tohno sneaks into a side vent.
The Geonosians inform their droids of the incoming warriors, and launch a battalion or two of battle droids as well. She radios to Obi-Wan that the diversion appears to be working.
That is, until she confronts a small group of Geonosians. She takes a few out with a lightsaber before being blasted by one of their sonic blasters. Tohno defeats the squad and makes her way into the generator room, but an alarm is raised before she can complete her mission.
She informs Obi-Wan that he must not put his troops at risk. She will complete the mission but her escape is doubtful. Anakin cannot handle this and takes a gunship to rescue her.
She tells Anakin that she is doing her job just as any other Jedi would. Sometimes that means sacrifice. He sullenly agrees and turns around. Tohno plants her charges at the base of the generator, just as dozens of Geonosians swarm in, blasting at her with the sonic blasters.
In a last ditch effort, she throws her lightsaber into the bag filled with explosives and the entire explodes and collapses in a giant pile of rubble.
Anakin tells Obi-Wan that their success does not feel so. Obi-Wan agrees, but reminds his padawan that as long as they hold their ideals true, her sacrifice is not in vain.
