This issue covers chapters 1-11 of the Clone Wars series from Cartoon Network.
The issue features a four-page prologue outlining the major players for the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, plus a page of Production sketches from the show.
Across the galaxy Jedi are charging into battle; by land, sea or air they take on the armies of the Confederacy. The most gifted of these Jedi is grows strong; his name is Anakin Skywalker.
Anakin and his master Obi-Wan Kenobi meet with Chancellor Palpatine and Master Yoda, who recommends that Kenobi and Skywalker should assault the banking clan factories on Muunilinst.
As Obi-Wan supervises the loading of the armies, Anakin says a silent farewell to Padmé.
En route, Obi-Wan instructs the ARC troopers of their mission parameters and then visits Anakin in the hanger bay, where the padawan is working on his fighter. Obi-Wan expresses a question about Anakin's maturity, but has never doubted his skills. He wishes the younger good luck.
Anakin leads the clone ships through a fray of Geonosian fighters, while Kenobi takes squadrons of ARC and clone troopers down to the planets surface.
Obi-Wan and his ground forces land while the ARC troopers continue on to their objectives; the command center. They are ambushed by battle droids, but manage to defeat them as well as a lone tank. Using a holocam, the ARC commander spots their target.
He radios into General Kenobi that they are in position and gets the order to proceed. They mine the length of a giant siege gun and ascend to the tower as Obi-Wan and his ground forces continue their assault.
Inside the central command, San Hill orders Durge to get out there and help.
Durge assembles his droid armies on swoop bikes and they make a brutal assault on the clone army; killing many brave warriors. They destroy many of the Republic's cannons with their magnetic mines.
On the other side of the galaxy, on Mon Calamari, the Quarren are using a droid army to assault the Calamari. Kit Fisto is sent to resolve this conflict.
He dives into the water with his clone SCUBA troops and makes his way through the manta droid fighters. He and the Calamari knights are making quick work of the enemy until the Quarren unveil their secret weapon; a giant underwater cannon. It's first act is to blast a Republic Assault ship out of the sky.
Using the Force, Master Fisto creates a bubble of water that ruptures the side of the cannon. Then the Calamari leader orders his troops to push the death machine over the edge of a crater. Kit smiles happily.
Elsewhere on the planet of Rattatak, Count Dooku lands to seek out a new apprentice. He watches the demonstration of warriors in the arena, but is most intrigued by his guide, who has been hiding her true self under a disguise.
Asajj Ventress leaps into the arena to prove what she can do. She manages to defeat many an enemy, wishing to prove to the Sith Lord what she is capable of. Dooku chuckles; she has much fear but is not a Sith. She bristles at his accusations and charges him, lightsabers drawn. He blasts her with a surge of Force lightning, knocking her unconscious.
Hours later she awakens in Dooku's fortress. She is attacked by Dooku and manages to defend herself quite graciously. He stops the battle and offers her a pair of custom lightsabers, and a job from his master, Darth Sidious. She is to seek out Anakin Skywalker and eliminate him.
Back on Muunilinst, Obi-Wan leads a battalion of troopers on swoop bikes against Durge and his forces. Soon it is just Obi-Wan and Durge, but for all of Obi-Wan's skill with the lightsaber, Durge will not fall.
He finally manages to slice Durge up into pieces and makes his way to the rendezvous point. He fails to notice that the pieces begin to reassemble themselves.
Inside the command center, the ARC troopers and Jedi make their assault against the droid armies. Just as Obi-Wan is asking for San Hill's unconditional surrender, Durge bursts in and begins shooting things up. He shakes off the troopers and his mutable flesh engulfs Kenobi. Moments later Durge explodes in a slimy mess all over the floor. Kenobi continues the surrender process.
Above the planet Anakin and his pilots are holding their own against the droid fighters. Suddenly a rogue fighter races through the battle unscathed. Anakin follows the ship, all the while his Master urges him that it is baiting him. Anakin chooses to ignore the warnings and jumps to hyperspace after it.
Obi-Wan orders the ARC Commander to follow Anakin with a squad of troopers, as he has a bad feeling about this.
