Let me start by saying thank you Jen for joining us! You're quite welcome! I'm happy that I can come to answer some question! I know there must be a lot on everyone's minds. Where can we find this new Vader in SW? Is the Internet figure droid, alien or human or two-pack? You said figures such as 4-LOM and Bib Fortuna would be re-released. When? Can you hint at any new Cinema Scenes? Any plans for Deluxe Jabba and Leia with Thrown? What does the EU card look like? Vader will have the vinyl cape over his shoulder. The internet figure(s) are aliens! 3-Packs will have aliens, pilots and.... Well a lot of figures you guys have been asking for. I know you heard about the Cantina alien 3-Pack. Snaggletooth, Labria and Nabrun Leids! BTW, pilots will have R/H helmets! See, I do help get the message across. Hi, Jen! Are there any plans to release a deluxe beast ROTJ Jabba? If so, when can we expect to see it? ROTJ Jabba has been a hot topic lately. We currently do not have any plans, but since everyone has been asking for it lately... I'll pass that along. I would not expect to see it until 2000. At least. What are the best and worse selling figures of the line so far? Best figures: Bespin Luke and R/H Vader Worst: That's a matter of opinion. What sort of research and development methods are used by Kenner/hasbro to decided which figures to make? Also, why more Tatooine Lukes? If kids need Luke, why not ship more of Wave 1 instead of remold after remold. (ok, one remold was called for. But...) We definitely do not throw darts. We throw proton torpedoes! Anyway, I work with the designers and bring e-mails and lists I get from the net'! And we sit down every so often and decide the next wave. When the "final 8" came up, we had to pick figures that tied into E1. So we had t find ways to do the classic heroes in some new way. Mostly, I do have a big say in what figures get made. But we can only do so many "collector figures" when we know that Luke version 500 will sell better. There is a strong fan base who would love nothing more than to see the ROTJ Jabba made. Especially now that Kenner has masteyellow the art of capturing a characters likeness. Will we ever see the Hutt we all love made into a POTF2 figure? See above for Jabba answer. BTW, we are continuing to make classic trilogy products even through E1! The picture out now of Kyle Katarn, is this the final version? Also, could you give us an idea of the 1999 and EU packaging? Yes. EU packaging will have a cardboard pop-up backdrop. Which serves as a mini backdrop from the video game/comic etc. THis idea came from the success of the Cantina Diorama. The packaging is still green and black. But there is a swirl of green instead of the laser stripe. swirl means milky way type starfield. Is the prequel figure Mace Windu and when can we get him? The sneak preview figure will become available Oct. 1998 with first views of him on the Hasbro website in Sept. Can we expect to see the Carbonite Freezing Chamber anytime? Yes, About August this year from Hasbro Direct. There are pictures in the Toy Fair section of the Hasbro web-site. I want to know if there will be a 12" Bounty Hunter line? Yes. Bounty hunters are very cool and I think Hasbro Direct does have some plans for some in the future. Will we see more Jabba's palace aliens? IE: Amanaman and Barada. Yes! Definitely in early 2000. We heard the huge interest for vehicles and are considering doing the skiff or shuttle for 1999! Are there plans for a Guri figure from SOTE? No plans for SOTE figures.... We are waiting to see how EU does. Do you plan on making Gonk? We will be addressing that soon. When will we see images of the 12" exclusives? Probably in the next month if I get images from Hasbro Direct. Will the Buddies line continue into 1999? Yes. Buddies will continue with some variation to the theme. Will the complete galaxy and beast lines continue? How are they selling? I think that this is it for Complete Galaxy! Beasts will definitely continue as long as we have appropriate characters... Why is the Max Rebo band exclusive to Wal-Mart? Every year we have to give a retailer something cool that shows we appreciate out relationship and that will bring people into their stores. The Rebo band has no specific reason for ending up there except that is the price point Wal-Mart wanted for their exclusives. Also, the accessories for Sy and Yoh were dropped because they were made up by us and not in the movie. We wanted to offer something to play with, but Lucasfilm wanted them authentic to the movie. We try to remind them that these are toys but you guys know how important authenticity is to SW. Why do you make so many variations that no one likes? Besides errors in production like R5-D4, when you make more than enough profits! Variations are not done on purpose! R5-D4 was fixed so that the yellow tab would not stick to the body. You have to realize that mass produced products done half a world away will have a few mistakes and fixes. How about some posters that show all of the figures in a series? Funny you should ask about that. I'm currently working on it! Will Max have his organ? Yes! Max will have his organ instrument! I'm a big Action Collection fan nd I love what Hasbro has done with the line. I was wondering in what direction will the line be heading in the future? Will Hasbro continue with the classic figures, or move into the prequels? We are focusing most of our effort on the prequels, but will still continue making classic figures as long as there is demand! Will the darkttrooper design be fixed? Will you come out with a phase two Darktrooper? The DT and Spacetrooper are different. No just the one we have. Jen, I know the AC is not your division, but what will the F/X (K*B Exclusive) 12" Boba Fett say? He has some speaking sounds, jet sounds and laser sounds as well. Any info on the 3-Pack that will have R/Hs? I think you will like the figures. One is alien. I can't say too much yet. Will the non-figure exclusive be made out of plastic or cardboard, and when will it be announced? Plastic. Are sites like yakface.com helping with the progress of vehicles with their petitions? Will we ever see an Owen and Beru Lars two-pack? Yes! I talk to them all the time about it! I don't know about a two-pack, but Aunt Beru is coming out next year! How many figures are planned for the first few waves of E1 next year? Will they be released May 25th or earlier? I don't know the number right off of my head, but at least 8. You'll probably see the figures in May, not determined exactly when. Will we ever see a Rebel Transport with Gen. Reikeen? A Jabba's Palace with Yardin? Or a Tonnika sisters set? Anything is possible, but we stick with more popular vehicles. What about a shuttle? Any plans? Shuttle was one of my favorites. When we pick the next vehicle, that will be one of the ones we look at. Will the new Vader be in scale with the other figures? Will we ever see any Womp Rats? We do our best to keep the figures scale accurate. No plans for a womprat right now. Will figures like the Deluxe, F/X, Complete Galaxy, 3-Packs and packins be made for the prequel line? Im not too excited about seeing dozens of reposes of these new figure. Especially not the first year. We are basically keeping all of the first segments for E1. What kind of SW products (if any) will be offeyellow from hasbro's online store in October? We are still looking at what to offer. The Internet Exclusive will be in there. Are there any plans to make larger playsets (Death Star) We have heard from collectors lately. And we are looking at ways to offer that. Are there any exclusives for magazines like ToyFare? Not Star Wars. Can you tell us about the upcoming Jedi Luke that comes with the Complete Galaxy Tatooine? Any big updates to the website? Luke will be holding his lightsaber and in his black Jedi outift. There will be a chat on the site with the designers probably on July 16th Images hopefully by August 1. Will we see the re-release of the AT-ST later this year? Not at this time. I'm trying to convince people here to do that, so hopefully we can. Will there every be a 12" Jabba? We have looked at that, but have not decided anything yet. Is there a chance we'll see a Y-Wing, B-Wing or Blockade Runner? Yes, there is a chance. See the FAQ for reasons why not.
