Comments:
The X-Wing Fighter has become the symbol of the Rebellion. Swift, reliable and highly responsive in battle, this rugged craft is capable of absorbing plenty of damage in combat. X-Wings have flown in all the major battles against the Empire and are the preferred fighters of Rebel pilots. In the bustling Alliance hangars, X-Wings are prepared for another battle with Imperial fighters, as pilots and technicians check engines, instruments and weapons. Once Alliance pilot, Wedge Antilles, flew an X-Wing in the Battle of yavin as Red Two and as Red Leader in the Battle of Endor.
Points of Interest:
X-Wing Starfighter is a repaint of 2002's SAGA Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Fighter
Wedge Antilles is a kit-bash figure using the arms, legs, and crotch of Nrin Vakil, the gloves and helmet of 2006's VTSC Wes Janson, a new torso and head. The helmet is the same as similar X-Wing Pilots, but the plastic has been stretched to fit Wedge's head.
The unnamed Astromech Droid is a repaint of 2005's ROTS R4-G9. In the Rogue Squadron novels, Wedge flew with an astromech droid named "Mynock" who later was reprogrammed with a new name, "Gate". Both of these droids are R5 units, so they are not the droid included in this set. The identity of this droid will have to remain a mystery for now...
UPDATE! This droid has been identified as R2-A3.
The display stand shown in the photos is not included with the vehicle. It's a FlexiDisplay stand, and you can find out more about it here.
