As early rumours suggested there are indeed two pilot minifigs with the new
75218 X-Wing Starfighter, due out in August.
If you can pull your eyes away from the
authentic 70's moustache adorning Luke's best buddy's upper lip you will immediately spot that both helmets are completely new moulds. No, me neither - it's like an otter isn't it?
The included droid is
R2-Q2 who accompanied Biggs Darklighter in Red Three during the Battle of Yavin. According to Wookieepedia the astromech associated with Biggs has is white with metallic brown markings, and is not to be confused with the
Imperial astromech of the same name and exact colourings as the new LEGO minifig.
Supporting the Biggs-owns-a-silver-droid-with-black-details is the Entertainment Earth
Astromech Droid Pack from Hasbro. Someone, somewhere has made an oopsie.
This set is expected to have a price point of US$79.99/€99.99 and will be accompanied on the shelves by a number of new LEGO sets, including:
- 75214 Anakin's Jedi Starfighter
- 75215 Nemesis Gang Chariot (code named Solo set)
- 75216 Snoke's Throne Room
- 75217 Chimera (code named Solo set)
- 75219 Gorgon (code named Solo set)
- 75220 Sandcrawler
