Expanded Universe that helped fan the flame of fandom for a new generation. Dark Horse Comics'
Dark Empire series featured new exploits of the classic
Star Wars characters such as
Princess Leia and
Luke Skywalker fighting against a threat from the past, the
Clone Emperor Palpatine and his forces. Palpatine's bodyguard, the
Imperial Sentinel, was at one point considered to be part of a new Vintage line of toys as a new villain with an army of clone warriors.
