Regal Robot’s growing Archive Collection just added a small maquette with a big new name! Legendary ILM concept designer, FX artist and film director, Joe Johnston (director of Jumanji, The Rocketeer, Captain America: The First Avenger), has joined with the collectibles company for a signature edition for a deep-cut alien that Johnston designed for Return of the Jedi.
The maquette for the Wol Cabasshite species, called “Low Overhead” during the production, was sculpted by Johnston and chosen by George Lucas to be made for the film. That life-sized creature was seen briefly in the film, attempting to - LICK - C-3PO in Jabba the Hutt’s Palace!
The rare signing with the director resulted in an extremely limited Signature Edition of just 83 pieces for just $399.
A Numbered Edition of just 100 pieces will give fans a chance to get this Johnston-sculpted maquette at $249, which is the lowest price Regal has ever offered for one of these editions!
With hands-on access to the original film artifact and high resolution 3D scanning, the Regal team has crafted a faithful recreation of Johnston’s original concept sculpture and each edition piece is hand-painted in the company’s New York studio. The edition pieces are even ready-to-ship when paid in full, but fans can also take advantage of an up-to-6-month payment plan option on checkout.
Do not miss this extraordinary opportunity to bring home not just an authentic replica, scanned from the original artifact, but also the rare signature of someone who was foundational in crafting the look of the Star Wars universe!
