We are still waiting on the press release but this is what we have so far. If you are unfamiliar with the Arcade1Up line, they are the first mass-produced at home arcade products. Check out our sister site
cooltoyreview.com for reviews of the latest wave.
Little is know at this point other than the unit contains Atari’s
Star Wars,
The Empire Strikes Back, and
Return of the Jedi arcade games. It will be available in November and features the X-Wing pilot controls. Price is under $500 but unclear what it contains beyond the basic unit. The basic unit go for $299. If this contains the graphical logo riser shown, expect it to retail for $379. If it has a light-up marquee, expect it to come in around $499. They are probably still working out the pricing with retailers at this point. Also unclear if this is an exclusive or set for wide release. Most exclusives so far have gone to Walmart, which has done a fairly good job of stocking them. We’ll put up more info when we get the press release from Tastemakers, hopefully in the next few days.
