Hey there, Rebelscum fans! This week on the site we’re looking at the Battle of Coruscant, in which General Grievous and Count Dooku launch a brutal invasion on the Galactic Capital. Make sure to read our “Expand Your Mind” article first in order to read more about the sequence, but stay tuned throughout the week for more articles, insights, merchandising content, and videos.

Although the ending of Attack of the Clones teased the beginning of the Clone Wars, Revenge of the Sith sped straight to the war’s climax. Three years had passed in both the galactic timeline and between films, and fans had been following the tie-in books, games, and comics that gave details on the Jedi’s adventures within the conflict.

Suitably, the action packed opening has inspired some of the most enjoyable Star Wars video games ever. Here is our guide to the best video games inspired by the Battle of Coruscant.

  • Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith: The Battle of Coruscant is a playable level in the official game released in 2005 in the “Rescue Over Coruscant” level. Players can play as Obi-Wan and Anakin as they investigate The Invisible Hand and battle Super Battle Droids.

  • Battle Over Coruscant: The THQ wireless game released for mobile devices featured six levels for fans to engage in shoot ‘em up action. They include “fighters,” “missile chase,” “defend battleship,” “destroy cruiser,” “defend Obi-Wan,” and “lower the shields.”

  • Star Wars: Battlefront- Elite Squadron: In the Battlefront game, the Battle of Coruscant is a level in the story mode in which the force sensitive clone X2 defends the capital with his brother X1.

  • Star Wars: Battlefront II: “Coruscant Space” is an optional space combat level in the Battlefront classic. Players also return to the planet for the siege on the Jedi Temple in Operation: Knightfall.

  • LEGO Star Wars: The original 2005 game features two levels centered on the Battle of Coruscant. Players use the Jedi Starighters in the “Battle Over Coruscant” level, and then play as Anakin and Obi-Wan as they rescue the Chancellor and face off against Count Dooku.

  • LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga: The upcoming game that packages all nine Skywalker saga films is most likely going to be released this year, although it's already been delayed multiple times, so anything can happen. There hasn’t been any official word on whether or not the game will simply combine the levels included in The Complete Saga or make additional edits to the gameplay.
