Hello there Rebelscum! There’s no denying we live in a golden age of toys, when nearly every property you can think of has a toy line. But you know when the last golden age was? The 1980s! (Okay, and late 1970s.) New toy lines were everywhere, innovation was at its peak, and many of the lines that were begun in that era are still going strong today. Feeling nostalgic? A bunch of those toy lines are up for auction now at Hakes.com -- read on for some of the highlights!

Some of these vintage items are hard to find, so the prices are already climbing. Check out some of the vintage items available now!

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (1980) - ACTION DISPLAY STAND BOXED SET.

Header display box contains Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back action figure display stand box, display stand w/name label strip, "Star Wars" backdrop card (w/Death Star, X-Wing and TIE Fighter), "Action Display Stand" instruction sheet and six 3.25" to 3.75" tall Kenner action figures - Luke Skywalker (Bespin), Princess Leia Organa (Bespin), Lando Calrissian, Bossk, Imperial Stormtrooper (Hoth) and FX-7 (Medical Droid) - w/weapons. Box shows obvious wear, w/heavy surface paper wear/loss to left end and some creasing to top of box. Header card has pair of approx. 2" creases at left/right, but has not been fully folded over. Slight fade to main box panel at right. Box is VG overall, but rare. Display stand has some scattered rubs/creases to name label strip and some lt. surface dust soiling. Fine/VF. Backdrop card has all over creasing and is Fine overall. Instruction sheet is Exc. Luke Skywalker figure has some lt. paint wear to hair and is o/w VF/Exc. Stormtrooper/Snowtrooper has slight pinkish discoloration to arms/legs and is VF/Exc while others are all NM. Very rare Empire boxed set.

REVENGE OF THE JEDI (1982) - MOCK-UP CONCEPT PROOF CARD AFA NG NO GRADE (ALTERNATE REVENGE LOGO)

AFA graded and encapsulated mock-up card for Kenner's then-titled Star Wars: Revenge Of The Jedi toyline, which later had the title changed to the more familiar Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi. Mock-up was made using an Empire Strikes Back Bespin Security Guard (Black Variety) 45 Back blister card (the paper that mock-up section has been crafted on can be slightly lifted at edge, revealing character), and front has completely hand-done mixed media design using alternate "Star Wars: Revenge Of The Jedi" logo, featuring a more comic book-like design. Typical of the graphic design process at the time, several mock-ups were created using different possible logo treatments to narrow down a design that would be used consistently across the line. Archival case. AFA NG (No Grade). Rare and unique piece of Star Wars history and a must-have for any serious collection. Comes with notarized Collectible Investment Brokerage (CIB) LOA.
