The article, covering the latest Star Wars Toy and collectible news surfaced late last week, and put a release date of late 2003 on three highly anticipated, though believed cancelled, Action Fleet vehicles; the Star Destroyer, Death Star, and Art of Star Wars A-wing Fighter. With a new found glimmer of hope, many Action Fleet fans saw this as a sign that their beloved line had been spared an uncertain future. However, according to Hasbro, there has been no change in the status of the Action Fleet line. As was reported previously, the line remains on hold and the items announced earlier in the year might not be released in 2003, and may in fact be cancelled. Hasbro did say that while these items will remain available to order until Hasbro makes an official announcement about them, they do not expect Minimum Quantity Requirement to be met. Understandably excited by the glimpse the French Fan Club had to offer, enthusiasts will have to wait out the rest of this year, and most likely all of 2004 in hopes that the retail climate in 2005 is more favorable to Action Fleet sales.
