Welcome to Germany!
Celebration Europe II takes place in Essen, Germany, the ninth largest city and located in country's Ruhr region.

The Ruhr district or Ruhr region is an urban area in the north-western part of Germany. With a population density of 2,800/km2 and a population of some eight and a half million, it is the largest urban agglomeration in Germany. It is the fifth largest urban area in Europe after Istanbul, Moscow, London, and Paris. The Ruhr has one of the densest motorway networks in all of Europe, with dozens of Autobahns and similar expressways crossing the region.

More detailed information about the Ruhr region and the location of the convention, "Essen," can be found at these pages: Ruhr Region; Essen

AIRPORTS
Most likely you will arrive through either Duesseldorf International Airport (DUS) or Frankfurt International Airport (FRA).

A detailed orientation map of the Duesseldorf International Airport can be found at this link.

DUS Public transportation (Subway/Train)
All public transport companies in the Ruhr are run under the umbrella of the "Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr/VRR", which provides a uniform ticket system valid for the entire area. The Ruhr region is well-integrated into the national rail system, the "Deutsche Bahn", for both passenger and goods services. You can find their (complex) network plan of service at the link above.

From Duesseldorf International Airport you could take the Subway S11 (directed to Duesseldorf Main Station), switch trains at Derendorf into S6 which would bring you to Essen Main Station. This is much cheaper than going by Taxi all the way.
