Early on, during the 'leak-fest' a couple weeks ago, we noticed a slight color difference between some of the basic figure card-backs. Now with the line in full release, many have written in with talk of blue card/purple card variations.

To clarify things a bit, what we're actually seeing is a print error on the card-back run. At some point during the run, the red ink ran low. Comparing the backsides of the cards you can clearly see where the child warning logo on the blue cards is muted, in comparison to the logo on the purple card. In the rest of the card as well, you can see where the reds are just not as bright.

So, what we're looking at here is not so much a change Hasbro made to the design of the card-back, as it is shoty quality control. And to be honest, this is not the first time we've seen color differences like this; they've been there all along. While we appreciate that some collectors may choose to track down multiple versions of each figure based on this difference, we hope the rest of the community will see this for what it is, and that no one will be tricked or pressured into paying more for something than they should.
