THE NEWEST STAR WARS TRADING CARD GAME EXPANSION

July 22, 2002 (Renton, Wash.) — The Force of the dark side is calling with the release of Sith Rising, the latest expansion will be on store shelves next week, for the popular Star Wars Trading Card Game, from Wizards of the Coast Inc., a subsidiary of Hasbro Inc. (NYSE:HAS).

Star Wars: Sith Rising Trading Card Game lets players discover the power of the dark side with new characters and ships from the Star Wars saga allowing them to crush their enemies. The 90-card set available in both randomly assorted 11-card (MSRP: $3.29) and 5-card (MSRP: $1.49) booster packs features extensive Episode II content and debuts two key characters Mace Windu and Darth Maul along with two new game mechanics that add to the levels of gameplay complexity. In addition, the company, pioneers of trading card game organized play, launched a multi-tiered Organized Play system to support the game, which includes instructional leagues, DCI-sanctioned competitive tournaments, and DCI-sanctioned championship events.
