Forget everything you thought you knew about the Star Wars Universe, the latest publication from Dark Horse comics examines the "what if" in their newest release Infinities: A New Hope. Imagine if you will, the Death Star is not destroyed, the rebel base is obliterated, Luke and Han flee the Yavin system, and Princess Leia is once again captured by the Empire. What will become of our heroes? Can freedom ever be restored to the galaxy? The only certainty is the adventure continues in this alternate tale where anything is up for grabs.
While the first issue focuses a great deal on set up, the script so far is well written and believable. Characters and situations, though not what we've come to expect, make sense in an alternate kind of way, and present a good read. If this kind of quality writing is maintained, Infinities should make for an interesting and impressive series. Avaialable now, look for Infinities: A New Hope#1 at comic and news stands near you.
