In the midst of the massive amount of new product images Hasbro released tonight, there was actually something brand-new we hadn't heard of before...sort of.
Coming to Target stores is "The Search for Luke Skywalker" set! (Battle Pack? it doesn't actually say those words on the box, but it's the same format.)
As promised long ago, the Tauntaun has found a home, and the brand-new beast will be part of this "Shadows of the Dark Side" set. This is made-up name for realistic figures that are not in the TVC packaging (yes, it's very confusing!) Additional figures include another Hoth Rebel Soldier and a kit-bashed Han Solo (Hoth Gear).
Kudos to Hasbro for keeping it vintage-style by releasing Han Solo in the blue deco, but it might have been better if the figure had the hooded head instead of this one (hopefully this can be corrected in time?)
One can only assume a second set will be coming that includes an all-new and long-overdue Luke Skywalker (Hoth Gear) with his own Tauntaun, but there's no official word on that yet.
