Action Figure Insider:1) Will we see more video game chars, or reissues, like Delta Squad reissued, KotoR’s Darths reissued, that sort of thing?
2) Will Hasbro ever re-issue the ULTIMATE HOTH PLAYSET (debuted at Target) or will we they just re-issue the HOTH REBEL TURRET?

NEW: Action Figure News:1) While many of us love SA, the use of BJ hips has been something of a mixed bag. So far on every figure that has incorporated BJ hips, what we end up with is a figure that has big bulging hips to the sides ruining the aesthetic of the figure. RotS Obi Wan looked incredibly silly with them and many collectors are referring to the upcoming TVC Bespin Luke as "diaper Luke" due to the wide hips. Will Hasbro ever be able to narrow the hips down? What about using the BJ hips as seen in your Iron Man 2 figures?
2) I'm seeing that Hasbro will be again releasing the 501st Clonetrooper in the fall with the new Saga Legends line. Yet in the photos which preview this figure, it's clear that Hasbro still hasn't fixed the glaring error with the helmet stripe that was first reported to you in the Q&As over a year and a half ago. The error was the blue stripe that is missing on the helmet, between the black horizontal stripe and the visor. Also the blue stripe that adorns the topside of the helmet is incorrect - it should make a "V" shape but instead is painted with uniform width. The artwork you use on the card depicts how the helmet should look when done correctly. It's not even a hard error to fix: just use the paint mask from your TSC Commander Appo figure (which did not suffer from these errors).

AllSpark.com:1) For the Star Wars Crossovers line, have there been any Star Wars vehicles that you've looked into producing as a Transformer, only to realize that there was no way to actually get it to convert? Whether it be too skinny, oddly shaped, or just altogether not enough surface area to hide a robot inside? We'd love to here the thought process on how the vehicles are chosen!
2) With all the Clone Wars Animated figures with limited articulation, why choose to take a step backward with the Clones themselves by removing articulation? While the "ab-crunch" articulation may not be quite as missed, the ankle articulation is a fundamental part of the clone body that allows for dynamism in posing and even for better stability in simple standing. The new Commander Stone now perches awkwardly next to his squad mates due to loss of this ankle articulation which, combined with even marginal package warping to the legs, seriously hampers stability.

ASMzine:1) The new roleplay Boba Fett helmet is great! It’s sure to be a hit with kids and fans of the bounty hunter. It does seem odd that this would be the next in line when the previous helmets have been kid-centric Clone Wars helmets. Was this done for the 30th anniversary of “The Empire Strikes Back” or is there something you know about season 3 of “The Clone Wars” that you aren’t telling us?
2) We heard something in a previous Q&A about some comic packs and Entertainment Earth. Can you elaborate on this?

WELCOME: Awesome Toy Blog:1) It is great that Star Wars stands are readily available on HasbroToyShop.com, are there any plans to update the included sticker sheet to reflect more recent or future figure releases?
2) Given the success of ‘The Force Unleashed’ is there any chance that characters from ‘Shadows of the Empire’ will return to the pegs, or has that ship sailed?

NEW: From CollectionStation.com: 1) Mace Windu has been represented in action figure form for 12 years now, and a large portion of those figures were released with some unique, non-standard aspect. Mace has been the first "sneak peek" in the modern line and was a mail-away, the first hard-shell "choco" robe, AOTC had a deluxe before basic which had a smiling face and a second figure, AOTC basic had the screaming face, 2003 AOTC basic had the "ultimate lightsaber control" stick gimmick, ROTS had the Force Lightning throw-off gimmick, and now the Clone Wars version with removable armor and saber-swinging waist. While there have been a few normal Mace figures, and even a super-articulated one finally, it seems as if Mace Windu has been tapped by Hasbro to be the sculpting and gimmick guinea pig. Is this pattern intentional, do you think he can't sell without these sorts of things, is it just happenstance, or does someone there subliminally not realize they keep picking Mace to be the test guy?
2) Why is it that modern realistic R2-D2 figures are oversized? Our math says that the modern R2 stands a whole centimeter too tall, which is a scaled visual difference of 7 inches. That's a pretty significant amount of extra height. The Clone Wars R2 is roughly the right height, as is the classic Kenner Artoo, while the build-a-droid astromech body splits the difference between the extremes. But the regular modern astromechs are all too tall. Why is this, and will this be addressed on the upcoming R2 redesign?
3) Recent Hasbro images show the upcoming Saga Legends Battle Droid 2-pack both using the mold based on the new Battle Droid figures from the Target Geonosis Arena Showdown sets. Is that what we will actually be used to make this Saga Legends 2-pack? If so, will we see any of the issues we raised in a previous Q&A addressed, like a left arm that can hold the blaster similar to the Clone Wars Firefighter Droid, or properly-sized eyes for every droid, or the neck piece facing the right way? Also, will we be seeing any running deco changes on this set, switching from Geonosis red to Naboo tan? Will there always be a commander droid and a regular grunt? Army-building Battle Droids only in red and at a 1:1 ratio with their commanders would be quite limiting, and many previous Saga Legends army builders have enjoyed running changes like this without any problems expressed.
4) Have you considered taking figures from the Comic Packs and putting them together into Battlepacks with perhaps 1 new figure, and making these sets exclusive to someone more focused on a comic-friendly audience, such as Diamond Distribution or one of the many fine e-tailers out there? This could help spur interest in the line along and satiate EU fans who crave more of their favorite characters. Star Wars comics still have a big audience, SW: Legacy is Dark Horse's 2nd best-selling line (despite the line apparently ending soon). If not Battlepacks, what about more Comic 2 Packs exclusive to those outlets with more focus on reusing the parts created for the line for new characters or at least character updates, since they're not likely to get used in the mainline?

Core Planets:1) Any chance we could see a running change to the new Saga Legends Zuckuss figure to use the soft goods featured in the CV 2 pack except with a darker color to match the rest of the figure? The new material works very well on the figure and I would love to have a "modern" version using this material.
2) Will we be seeing repacking of hard to find figures like the AOTC wave from Legacy, Concept Anakin Skywalker, Jedi Disguise Jar Jar Binks, R2-X2, Concept IG-88, maybe in the Star Wars Legends line? It seems that this line continually has the same figures in it and it would be a welcome change for much harder to find figures from the past to be included.

Dewback Patrol: 1) In a previous DewbackPatrol Q&A you confirmed the existence of an upcoming Rebel Endor Commando figure. Is there any chance we can get a pic of this figure or even some preproduction shots that show who the figure is going to be based on?
2) How about doing alternate heads as a mail away? Send in 5 pop and shipping and you get few alternate heads you can pop on your current figures. Throw in a couple different head accessories (Bespin guard hat, Hoth soldier scarf and hat, imp officer hats). Fans can troop build. Let’s say you did 5 different generic human heads. They could be used to make 5 different Hoth soldiers. Then those same heads could be used to make 5 different Endor rebel soldiers. So what do you think?

From DroidsandEwoks.com: 1) In recently revealed case assortment details, we see Wicket is listed as coming with Kneesaa - can you confirm this? If so, you'll be making many fans very happy. Did you include a second figure because collectors have previously stated that a single Ewok might not do well at retail because of its perceived value?
2) Have you considered re-releasing the Clone Wars version of C-3PO painted in his Droids TV series color scheme, or do you feel that such a figure would require an all new sculpt?

NEW: Figures.com: 1) With this year marking the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, are there any plans to release updated versions of the Tauntauns with Luke and Han in their Hoth gear?

From Galactic Hunter: 1) Were the Dewback and the Gelagrub successful enough that we will see some more non-character (e.g.. Jabba The Hutt) creatures? In a previous Q&A we learned that a Tauntaun was pushed back. Is there any chance it has inched forward at all?
2) Periodically we've asked what is on the Team Hasbro wish-list? Would it be possible to get a couple of thoughts from the crew? (Nothing is written in stone, but our team is known to geek out a bit.)

From Han's Hideout: 1) In previous Q&As, you've hinted that in addition to the Vintage Fett offer there may be another mail-away promo later this year, one focused on The Clone Wars. Will this be a regular figure offer (like Fett or Nahdar) or something a little fancier (like the Eopie or perhaps something to tie in with the new Galactic Card Game)?
2) A couple questions about the exclusive Visionaries Comic Pack - is the Uncle Owen figure all new or a kitbash? And is there any chance we can get a better look at him (and/or Maul too)?

From Imperial Shipyards: 1) Is there any chance we get a few comparison images showing the new snowspeeder up against some previous offerings? Something to give us an idea of the size relation between the two, if any?
2) Why can't we get a checklist for all the products coming in the next year with some pictures? Instead we have to speculate and listen to rumors and then we get leaked pictures popping up. Why can't you guys just cut out all the third partys and just give us a checklist? And if there is a possibility there could be a change, just note that. It would be greatly appreciated by us collectors.

From Jedi Defender: 1) A question on the Clone Trooper in the Vintage Collection RotS wave - which sculpt is that? In a previous Q&A, you said he would be a simple "greatest hits" repack but I don't think it was ever confirmed which sculpt was going to be used for the Vintage line release.
2) We've been running a feature at JD called "Collect All 92!", which
compares vintage figures to their modern counterparts, and recently it brought something to our attention regarding the Vintage Power Droid. There really currently isn't a figure that sports the blue deco the Power Droid was seemingly based on, though there are two seen in A New Hope (One in Mos Eisley, and one at the Lars Farm). So our question is: Are you considering a Power Droid update and doing either the Lars Family Gonk Droid, or the Mos Eisley streets Gonk? These seem like some cool choices to fill a future droid slot in the modern line, if you're not already looking at them!

From Jedi Insider: 1) With you all doing the new Vintage rocket launching Boba Fett figure this year, it had me thinking. Have you considered doing any kind of special then and now figure sets? Like where you release a set with a remake of the original Kenner figure and then one of a modern day version, like maybe do a limited set using the characters from the original early bird Kenner set?
2) Word is, starting with wave 2 of the new Vintage line, you will be releasing special "Bounty Hunt" foil carded figure, very similar to what you did with Ultimate Galactic Hunt cards from the TSC and TAC line. Is this true and can you provide us with any more details about it, like which figures will see this treatment, at least in the first couple waves?

NEW: From JediNews.co.uk: 1) It seems like it’s been ages since we’ve seen Mace Windu and Commander Gree on our shelves so we’re looking forward to seeing them in wave 3 of this year’s Clone Wars line as shown in the pictures at Entertainment Earth. It’s understood that this wave will feature updated super articulated versions of Mace Wine and Kit Fisto. This wave also features Commander Gree – can you tell us what changes have been made to the Commander? Also, what new articulation has been added to the other figures in this wave? Some up close detailed pictures would be great (hint, hint)!
2) A while back, during one of these Q&A sessions, you indicated that the
Mon Calamari female dancer was on the bubble for release. Years later and obviously she still hasn't been released yet. Have you abandoned your plans for this figure or is she still in the works? Any chance we'll see her on the new Vintage style cards?

From Jedi Temple Archives: 1) It's been about 16 months since we got a first glimpse of the Ratts Tyerell figure in the Hasbro Star Wars presentation at 2009's NY International Toy Fair. And since that time he was swapped out for an alternate pod racer, Clegg Holdfast. But we're left wondering whatever happened to Ratts Tyerell? Will this unlucky pod racer see the light of day in the Vintage Collection? And how does he measure up in terms of stature to other figures?
2) Just when we thought you were going in the most perfect direction for exclusives and multipacks, we learned that the Ewok Speeder bike set with Oochee and an Ewok multipack have both been delayed or shelved. Why are you doing this? An Ewok set is severely long overdue and while many fans are closet Ewok fans because they are too embarrassed to admit they love Ewoks, we all want more of these fur balls in our collection. Some vendor must be able to pick these up as exclusives. Can you work extra hard to get these out to us?

From Jedi Temple War Room: 1) The Clone Wars line has the benefit of the most entertainment support when it comes to Star Wars toys. And since the new series premiered there have been a number of large vehicles, from the Deluxe vehicle line to exclusive Republic Gunships, and on to a pair of $100 vehicles like the AT-TE and Turbo Tank. Obviously there's the new AT-AT on the way this summer, but it's a movie offering. Some candidate that we've had our eyes on?
-The Twilight
-Republic Nu Class attack shuttle
-The Jedi "flying wing"
-Slave I
Wth that in mind, how likely are Clone Wars fans to see another big ticket vehicle in 2010? And are we barking up the right tree?
2) Looking through the new Saga Legends line-up there seems to be something of an odd standout. Notably, it seems that since the beginning of the Saga Legends line there has not been a basic Stormtrooper. There have been Sandtroopers, Snowtroopers and Biker Scouts representing the Imperial troops plus a good number of the Clones from the Republic era, but not a Stormtrooper. Can you elaborate on this?

From Lightgeschwindigkeit.de: 1) As a fan of the Comic 2 packs that recently and unfortunately saw an end of their production I wonder if we will see a new release of Quinlan Vos and Vilmarh Grahrk in the near future, or how about a release of other characters close to Vos, especially Khaleen Hentz, and what's the chance to see other characters of the Dark Times comic books? Jennir & Bomo Greenbark would have looked so cool, presented as a comic 2-pack.
2) First glance pictures of TVC figures from ROTS where recently released (leaked?) by an online retailer.
Among others we got a first look at the upcoming Darth Sidious - Senate Duel figure.
He looks quite nice, but from what can be seen his face sculpt looks very scene-specific with this evil grin / laugh.
I (and I believe many other collectors) are not always too fond of too scene-specific figures and although this certain Darth Sidious may even warrant such a head sculpt, my question is:
Will there, by any chance be an alternate swapable head coming with this otherwise very promising looking figure, so that everyone will be satisfied?

From MouseDroid.com: 1) What are the chances of seeing Darth Vader in the Medical Capsule, from Revenge of the Sith?
2) Are there any plans to release a definitive Battle Droid for both The Vintage Collection and The Clone Wars lines? The Battle Droid from the Geonosis Two-Packs is an excellent sculpt, however he suffers from poor posture, or falls over due to leg support issues. I understand that there's an issue due to the design of the character, but surely there's a way around it. Is there any chance that you could take a look at the Battle Droid in both lines and hopefully rectify the problem?

From Raving Toy Maniac: 1) With all of the Ewok figures we've received in recent years, we now have every vintage Ewok figure represented in the modern Star Wars line except for one -- Lumat. Since Lumat is the final Ewok needed to complete the vintage lineup of Ewoks, it seems logical for him to be included in The Vintage Collection. Are there plans to complete our Ewok rosters with Lumat within the next year or so?
2) It was stated in a previous Q&A that Willrow Hood would be a test to see how well a fully collector-oriented figure like Jocasta Nu would fare in the marketplace today. Willrow Hood seems to have sold through fairly quickly and well. Since Jocasta Nu is not only a Jedi with significantly more screen presence than Willrow Hood, placed second in the internet-wide Fan's Choice collectors' poll, has appearances in the Clone Wars cartoon, and is one of the few movie characters with lines not to receive an action figure, have the sales of Willrow Hood increased the probability of collectors finally getting their Jocasta Nu figure in the next few years?

From Sandtroopers.com: 1) Why wasn't there a bigger concern or desire to celebrate ten years of Episode I. The Phantom Menace wave was excellent, and the Eopie & Qui-Gon Jinn was a great idea but why wouldn't you produce any new Podracers or rehash any of the merchandise that hasn't been in stores for a decade?
2) We have seen many rehashed core characters over the years, how come we haven't seen young Boba Fett resculpted? Or why wouldn't it have better been served to include him in the Fett Legacy with the Jango and older Boba Fett? The Mandalore would might have been a great artist concept figure (and screams Saga Legends), but why wouldn't the likeness of Daniel Logan be used for an unmasked Boba Fett instead of what was used in the Legacy Collection. That appeared to be a basic Clone Trooper, and we all know Boba wasn't that.

NEW: From Sir Steve's Guide: 1) Hasbro hasn't really elaborated on your take of the most recent ToyFare Star Wars fans' choice poll finalists, other than to say in a very broad sense that it was clear collectors were most interested in all-new characters over resculpts and that the results would provide a "road map" for future lineups. So specifically, apart from Jocasta Nu and Jaxxon whom you've already addressed, are there any totally unlikely candidates on the list such as the Queen / handmaiden figures? Any choices that really made you wince because you know they would be retail poison? If you want to avoid giving away too much info now by addressing each character individually could you at least tell us how many characters from each source (i.e. OT, PT and EU) off the finalists list will be turned into figures in the next 18 months or so?
2) One of your answers from the April 8th round said that, as we expected, due to the troubles with running changes, there will be no more of those running-change figures. The statement is clear, running changes from wave to wave didn't work out too well during the TLC line, but it leaves open the question of whether simultaneous, planned production variations could be released concurrently within the same wave. The line has done so before, similar to the way the TSC line's Endor Rebel Troopers were released, or some Saga Legends troopers, the Imperial Officer head variants, the Clone Wars Micro Series clones; and the GI Joe line has more recently had success with concurrently-released chase figures as well. While concurrent variants do make specifics a little tougher to get, it provides a lot more flexibility for army-building troops without waiting years to release a variant. So would those sorts of simultaneous-production, same-wave variant figures still be a possibility, or do these go down in flames along with the running change figures?

From Snowtroopers.ca: 1) Will the Jabba the Hutt with Dais be coming to Walmart Canada? Do you have any pics available that you can share? If not can you share with us what is included in the set? (ie Salacious Crumb?/Hookah and Bowl)
2) Will Hasbro ever release a "Luke as Vader" figure from ESB, maybe with a removeable helmet? How about better articulation for General Rieekan? I like the new Bespin Guards, by the way - any chance of seeing a remake of the Asian one released back in the 80's (with the Fu Man Chu moustache), maybe as part of a Battle Pack? Any chance of seeing more Imperial officers, particularly female ones?
3) With the recent shortage of the Eopie/Qui Gon Mail away and having to make more than what was thought, does hasbro plan on ensuring that the current ail away for Nahdar Vebb, and, the later this year mail away of 'Rocket Firing' Boba Fett, will have more than enough product to supply the demand (espcially for Boba) as I know that there are of collectors who were not happy with not getting the Eopie/Qui Gon with in a decent amount of time. Also, why did it take so long for the postcards to get out notifying people of the delay. I didn't get mine until the beginning of April but yet the cancellation deadline was for March 31. Fortunatly for me I had no intention of cancelling my order and had heard through Snowtroopers.ca of this shortage and the mailing of the postcards. I just feel that if you are going to have a shortage and are going to send postcards giving them the option to either wait for the new batch or cancel their order all together, a slightly longer deadline or a faster method of getting the postcards to customers needs to be given.
4) Ewoks not only have a pivotal role in the Return of the Jedi movie, scenes in which they appear occupy almost 1/3 of the movie screen time. Yet, only 14 of these characters were produced in the past 12 years, and that's counting a little baby wokling. That considerably less than the Cantina patrons, some of which only appears for 2 seconds on screen. Despite the many critics and rotten tomatoes thrown at these furry creatures in the past few years, I feel Star Wars collectors would agree that a Star Wars toy collection would not likely be complete without a large number of these characters made into action figures (it's not like they face the same level of hate as Jar Jar Binks). Let's face it: their cuteness would certainly make them hot-sellers for both the collectors and kids audience.
So, for each Ewok character in the following list, could you tell us the likelihood of ever getting these made, remade or redesigned for a release in 2010-early 2011 (not likely, somewhat likely, likely, very likely, sure hit): movie-based Ewoks Teebo, Logray, Lumat, Warok; spin-off TV movies Ewoks Chukha-Trok, Kaink, Weechee Warrick, Deej Warrick, Erpham Warrick, Widdle Warrick; and finally Ewok Cartoon Kneesaa?

From TheJawa.com:1) You mentioned in an earlier Q&A that a figure like wicket (or other small ewoks) might come with some accessories to compensate for the fact that buying such a tiny figure doesn't feel much like getting your money's worth otherwise. I was wondering then if Hasbro will also then include accessories for a TVC Jawa figure? I remember as a kid, my own mother refusing again and again to pay $4 (Canadian) for a Kenner jawa figure - citing that it was not worth it for such an insignificantly tiny figure - she had no issues buying me the adult-sized figures.
2) Since you've recently retooled the ESB Bespin Luke and the AT-AT driver, any chance we can get a slightly retooled Snowtrooper? Aside from the repeated requests to give us a more clean Snowtrooper (no dirt on boots, no off-colored face mask/hood), I know that it'd be a huge boon to get a Snowtrooper with a more narrow leg pose. The current one just looks silly once you've army built a few of them and stand them together. Their legs are just spread too wide apart - it'd be great to be able to have a number of them standing more neutrally. The legs could then be used for a future Snowtrooper Commander as well (hint hint).

From Yakface.com: 1) The past few QnA sessions with various sites in the community have been fruitful in terms of receiving advanced looks at upcoming figures like the modified General Grievous w/cape, the ultra-evil Senate Duel Darth Sidious and Leia Organa in Hoth Gear. We were hoping to get in on the goods with a detailed sneak peek at the new "Vintage" Sith Apprentice Anakin Skywalker that features the dark side visage and upgraded articulation. Any help would be hot!
2) Many collectors have voiced their concerns that the last two waves of Clone Wars figures (consisting of Cold Weather Anakin, Thi-Sen, Cmdr. Stone, Darth Sidious, TX-20, Firefighter Droid, Cold Weather Obi-Wan, MagnaGuard and Cold Weather Rex) have been a real Rancor to come across at retail. Meanwhile, stores have been inundated with older case assortments containing Whorm Loathsom, Echo, Admiral Yularen and the like. Are these lasts two hard-to-find waves still making their way to retail or are they casualties of "last wave syndrome" - a plague from which the Star Wars line often suffers when there is a packaging switch over?

From Yoda's News: 1) Regarding the new packaging look coming in the fall, was it considered to put a more appropriate character, say a Stormtrooper, on the packaging for Original Trilogy vehicles? Having a Clone Trooper (animated too!) on the AT-AT packaging just doesn't look right to the eyes of this old "Original Trilogy" fogey fan...
2) I know that I am beginning to sound like a broken record when it comes to these new Galactic Heroes Cinema Scenes; but we are now going on June with no sign of the "Kamino Showdown" and "Purchase of the Droids" sets. In a previous Q&A, you told us that we would be seeing these sets back in March. I am beginning to worry that these are going to be cancelled; but you have already told us that you have the packaged samples and that they are ready to go to retail once Toys R Us clears out some older Cinema Scenes sets. Please tell me that that is still the case!! Mesa wants to get my grubby paws on those awesome sets. Thanks!
