Actor, Writer and Producer Richard "Admiral Motti" LeParmentier will go down in the history of the Portuguese Star Wars fandom as the Saga’s first personality ever to grace an event with his presence. It’ll happen at the 19th edition of the FIBDA Comics Festival, in November. This year’s main theme being "Technology & Science Fiction", Richard will attend after an invitation from the SWCP, Star Wars Clube Portugal, the club organizing the Star Wars side of the event.
What and Where...
The FIBDA, Festival Internacional de Banda Desenhada da Amadora (Amadora being a city in the vicinity of the country’s capital, Lisbon) is an yearly organization of the C.N.BD.I., Amadora’s National Comics and Illustration Center, and the city’s Municipality. Held at the Luís de Camões Forum from October 24 until November 9, FIBDA celebrates its 19th birthday this year and its main theme couldn’t be a more appropriate one to help the SWCP club further spread the Star Wars word among the visitors and fans, most of whom have never been able to meet a Saga actor in person.
The Empire Strikes Again...
Richard "Admiral Motti" LeParmentier will be available at the SWCP’s booth and the club’s Star Wars memorabilia exhibit from October 31 until November 2, where he’ll meet with fans and at autograph sessions along with other famed international Sci-Fi comic book artists and writers (these not directly related to the Saga). On both Saturday and Sunday afternoons, Richard will be giving his usual Q&A sessions with the "Imperial Illustrated Lecture"; part talk, part Star Wars stand up using selected scenes from the film.
Star Wars at the Event...
FIBDA and the SWCP club have organized lots more activities and points of interest for Star Wars fans and Sci-Fi fans at large for the Festival’s duration. Besides the aforementioned exhibit, there’ll also be another chance to watch the free screenings of Star Wars: A Guerra dos Clones, the PT-dubbed version of The Clone Wars movie, and also (another first in Portugal) the famous fan feature/documentary "The Force Among Us", directed and produced by Cris and Cortney Macht in 2007.
A Papercraft workshop will also take place on the Festival’s three weekends, directed mainly at the younger audience.
Lastly, S.W.O.R.A., Star Wars Outer Rim Alliance, the international alliance of fan clubs co-founded by the SWCP and of which Richard LeParmentier is the current acting Ambassador, will also have a special place at the venue as both the Ambassador and the club will spread word about it. | O Actor, Escritor e Produtor Richard LeParmentier ficará para a história da afeição Star Wars em Portugal como a primeira personlidade da Saga a jamais ter agraciado um evento com a sua presença. O Quê e Onde...
O FIBDA, Festival Internacional de Banda Desenhada da Amadora é uma organização anual do C.N.BD.I., Centro Nacional de Banda Desenhada e Imagem da Amadora e do Município desta cidade. Tendo lugar no Fórum Luís de Camões de 24 de Outubro até 9 de Novembro, o FIBDA celebra o seu 19º aniversário este ano e o seu tema principal não poderia ser mais adequado para ajudar o clube SWCP a espalhar ainda mais a palavra sobre Star Wars junto dos visitantes e fãs, a maior parte dos quais nunca antes pôde conhecer um actor da Saga em pessoa.
O Império Ataca de Novo…
Richard "Admiral Motti" LeParmentier estará disponível no espaço do SWCP e na exposição de memorabilia Star Wars de 31 de Outubro a 2 de Novembro, onde contactará com os fãs, e em sessões de autógrafos juntamente com famosos artistas e argumentistas internacionais da BD de Fi-Ci (estes não directamente relacionados com a Saga). Tanto nas tardes de Sábado e de Domingo, o Richard dará as suas habituais sessões de Perguntas & Respostas juntamente com a "Palestra Imperial Ilustrada"; parte conversa, parte stand-up Star Wars usando cenas seleccionadas dos filmes.
Star Wars no Evento...
O FIBDA e o clube SWCP organizam muitas mais actividades e pontos de interesse para os fãs de Star Wars e Fi-Ci em geral durante todo o festival. Para além das supramencionadas exibições e exposição, haverá a possibilidade de assistir a sessões gratuitas dos filmes Star Wars: A Guerra dos Clones e também (outra novidade em Portugal) ao famoso documentário/longa-metragem de fãs "The Force Among Us", dirigido e produzido por Cris e Cortney Macht em 2007.
Uma oficina de construções em papel (Papercrafts) terá lugar nos três fins de semana do festival, principalmente dirigida à audiência mais jovem.
Por último, a S.W.O.R.A., Star Wars Outer Rim Alliance, a aliança internacional de clubes de fãs co-fundada pelo SWCP e de que Richard LeParmentier é o actual Embaixador em exercício, terá um papel especial no local já que tanto o Embaixador e o clube dela falarão ao público. |
