From our friend and 501st Legion Webmaster, Dean:

"As the current NASA Space Shuttle program comes to an close, there's no better way to commemorate one of the final flights than with a contingent of 501st Stormtroopers, the pink astromech R2-KT and Chewbacca himself (Star Wars actor Peter Mayhew). On March 18, 2010, STS-131 will launch from Florida's Kennedy Space Center carrying a photo of Mayhew as well as a Katie Johnson trading card to create awareness of pediatric cancer and the Legion's philanthropic causes. More specific information will be released as we approach the launch date. Let the countdown begin to another huge milestone in the history of Star Wars fandom!"

Thanks to Dean for filling us in on Star Wars' return to space!
