Taking their lead from what's sure to be the most lightsaber driven film of the entire Star Wars saga, Hasbro is set to release three new action platforms called Battle Arenas. While they're not what one would consider a traditional "playset," the platforms are designed to allow fans to reenact several key lightsaber duels from Revenge of the Sith. Sold in sets of two, players can connect up to four bases for an all out clash. Adjustable stands on each base can accommodate most figures, a nice plus if you’re looking to include other characters. A well-placed turn of the lightsaber is all it takes to vanquish your enemy and eject him from the arena. While the figures included in each set are 3¾", articulation has been scaled back, and most have been molded into an action pose. In many ways it's a shame Tiger Electronics didn't get their hand in this line; the concept is sound, as a game it can be fun, unfortunately there’s just not enough there to really put these sets over the top.
