I'm LIVE at Comic-Con (fresh from the Hasbro party), where Lucasfilm is presenting the
Star Wars Fan Film Awards! The fans have create some fantastic films this year, and Lucasfilm has teamed up with Atom.com to showcase the best of the best in this year's submissions.
Just as a warm-up, here's the official announcement:

I'm here at the awards in the convention center, and after a collage of the favorite (including The Force-Cast's "George Lucas Hip Hop Awards"!) Steve Sansweet is making a presentation on just how the submissions are chosen for the awards show.
The winners are being announced, followed by an acceptance speech, and then a showing of the fan film itself:

"Fanboys" has come out to discuss the films...and there is a special screening tonight!
Steve and Hyle are talking about the rocky road for the final cut of the film...and it's not back to what it was originally. Release date is expected to be September 19th. We even get to see a 4-minute collection of scenes from the film. The crowd is going crazy with applause....they can't wait to see it.
Fanboys producer Kevin Spacey comes out...does a quick SNL-Han Solo impression...and talks about the film. He's very please to "keep the dark side at bay" and is please that fan site on the net have been successful as the original version is going to be released. Tell all your friends so that they'll have a "really big f***ing opening weekend!" This is Kevin's first Comic -Con, and he spent some time walking though the crowds today....impressed with the fans.
Back to the awards show....
UPDATE! Okay, I missed the premiere since I was on the phone talking to Jason...it's not his fault! But that just means you can enjoy the photos from the presentation.
