Now that the saga that took 42 years to tell the story of the Skywalker family has been told, Disney has marked its completion with a boxset of 27 discs containing all 9 movies (plus enough bonus material to fill the belly of a sarlacc) n DVD, Blu-Ray and (for the first time ever) 4K UltraHD formats.
And it gets released today! But before you run off to get your hands on this boxset-to-end-all-boxsets checkout Dan Caset, from Nerdists, unboxing and check out its contents.
After years of DVD and Blu-Ray releases it is this 4K UltraHD set, containing nine Blu-Ray edition discs, another nine for the 4K version and nine bonus discs presented in a hardbound slipcase, it's got fans sitting up and paying attention.
Availability-wise, this is a Best Buy exclusive in the USA and Canada for US$249.99 and CA$349.99, respectively. Judging by the speed at which Best Buy's other exclusives have been selling out, pre-ordering sooner rather than later is the order of the day.
In the UK it is exclusive to Amazon.co.uk (priced £199.99), who allude to the 26 hours of bonus disc contents, which include:
The Phantom Menace (approx. 181 mins)
