The DC Star Wars Collecting Club (DCSWCC), Pennsylvania Star Wars Collecting Society (PSWCS), and Ohio Star Wars Collector's Club (OSWCC) were honored to host their own tables in the Fan Room at Celebration III this past weekend. To commemorate the event and to promote the harmony and goodwill that exists among all collectors, the three groups conspired to come up with a unique giveaway - an exclusive Celebration III patch consisting of three equal-sized wedges, one wedge for each group to distribute as they chose.
The concept was hatched by Mike Kurtz of the DCSWCC, and a mad flurry of emails, new suggestions, and design alterations were exchanged amongst the three groups before a final design was agreed upon. The result was the impressive limited-edition collectible pictured below, approved by Lucasfilm, and it proved a popular giveaway. Attendees lucky enough to snag all three wedges found that not only do they have a memento of the event complete with date and location, but the three pieces when combined reveal an image of Darth Vader surrounded by flames.
