So, just what was inside that mystery kiosk anyway? We'll have detailed photos soon, but Hasbro had a slideshow presentation which showed off some of the new items coming in 2005.

Click here for the new items announced.

Slideshow Presentation

Wave 2 Attacktix in September with more trilogy characters.

An Attacktix Gunship is also on the way for Wave 2. It was going to be on display at the show, but it did not arrive in time.

Darth Tater reached a broader audience, very pleased with the reception.

Titanium Series will have 23 3" vehicles this year and 2 6" vehicles will be revealed later this year. There will be 2 3" gift sets, one is on display. These are exclusive in 2005 to Wal-Mart. Released nationally in 2006.

Hasbro Toy Shop.com limited to 1000 customers. One of each figure, plus 3 bonus army builder figures. Plus 60 Episode III collector cases 499.99 to join, with option to renew for additional years.

Ultimate Lightsaber with thousands of different combinations so kids can graduate from padawan to Jedi Knight.

Galactic Heroes. VERY strong response, has really taken off. Vehicles will be added, including the X-Wing Buggy and Landspeeder Tank. Danglers in time for the new school years: Han, Boba, Yoda, Luke, and a Darth Tater!

The M-pire figures (on display) will be 16 figures (8 2-packs) working closely with LFL and M&Ms, figures are going to be in scale to the Galactic Heroes line, also 16 plush characters...4 waves in all.

The 500th Darth Vader in Meditation figure on display with special packaging.

Battle Packs will be repackaged older figures in special "themed" sets. Only the first series (Jedi vs. Separatists "Clone Wars") will contain new sculpts.

Evolutions - VOTC-style figures with articulation and soft goods, highlighting certain characters and groups. The three sets announced were Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Sith Lords, and Clone Troopers.

Speaking of VOTC, hints were dropped mentioning a return to this popular line.

Q&A Session

  • No plans for a Death Star playset. Hasbro would love to do it, but with the focus on Revenge of the Sith this year, it's not in the plans. They would rather create an all-new set, instead of re-releasing previous versions.

  • The Wal-Mart exclusive Early Bird set is a stand-alone set, and NOT an indication of a new line. This is meant as a tribute to the 1978 edition. All-new sculpts for Luke, Leia, and Chewbacca's head.

  • No plans for an Evolutions Padmé set, but a great idea for the collector-focused line.

  • Early Bird clamshell was designed to limit abuse at retail, which is why the packaging is designed as is.

  • There WILL be more basic figures this year, beyond the Revenge of the Sith line.

  • No plans for more POTF2-style Pop-Up Dioramas.

  • The ESB Cloud Car is on the short list for new items to be made.

  • The Target-exclusive Clone Trooper will be a direct-to-shelf release. No plans for a ticket like with the Lava Reflection Darth Vader figure.

  • The Palpatine #35 figure with the "blue" lightsaber was an unintentional error that was quickly corrected, but some were released before the error was corrected.

  • The future of the 12" line is tentative for now. Hasbro is Waiting to see how the ROTS figures do first.

  • No plans for an AT-TE at this time.

  • No plans for other ROTS vehicles like the V-wing.

  • There are no plans for a re-release of the mail-order stand from 1978, or something similar? While they like the idea, there are no plans now.

  • Since there is a Toys R Us exclusive X-wing and Wedge coming out, Might we see a Wedge available on a card separately? Not at this time, but many other pilots have been made recently, so it is a possibility in the future.

  • The detachable blades on the lightsabers will be faded out due to issues with them breaking. One possible plan is to move to both "ignited" and "inactive" versions again. Also, the hands holding the lightsaber has been included in several of the Collection I figures already. May see more of that in the future.

  • While it is difficult to do an assortment with electronics in all vehicles, a balance between electronics and non-electronics has been

  • No plans for more Accessory packs at this time.

  • No plans for more figures like Mace Windu (Total Control) with control rod at this time.

  • There are no plans for further Jedi Master Points promotion or other mail-ins, but it is possible for the future?

  • As far as recreating the missing Vintage Action figures in the modern line, there are "a world of possibilities" for the future.

  • Aside from the Evolution sets and the Battle Packs, there are nom plans for more multipacks.

  • Still no change in the Tonnika Sisters situation, although they are very aware that the demand exists.

  • No plans at this time for 12" accessory sets similar the Barbie line.

  • TOMY has announced a remote control R2-D2 exclusive for Japan in the 3-3/4" scale, but there are no plans at this time to bring this to the US. However, they are interested.

  • No plans for larger items like Turbo Tank. Cost is the biggest factor. The chances of an Obi-Wan Kenobi with a baby Luke accessory is "slim to none."

  • No plans for a Toshi Station Biggs Darklighter at this time, but this figure does come up from time to time.

  • As the future of the Unleashed line, there are more figures planed for this year. 2006 will have some "very cool stuff" but they can't talk about it yet.

  • The OTC Dagobah Luke figure lended itself for new opportunities in sculpting, accessories, and packaging. Hasbro hopes for more opportunities in the future.

  • There are no plans for a 12" Jabba the Hutt at this time, but Hasbro noted that the released figures so far are already roughly 12" long.

  • The Darth Vader Celebration III figure will be available online after the show.

  • No current plans for any extra weapons sets. Maybe an exclusive in the future.

  • The Clone Wars animated line will continue with new 3-packs this fall with slightly retooled figures (repaints or new head sculpts). When asked if fans wanted animated style or realistic style figures, the room unanimously replied "BOTH!"

  • There are no plans to reissue the early Unleashed figures at this time, but they are considering it.

  • There won't be a new Fan Choice poll in 2005, but it will return.

  • There are plans for selling army builder figures online as long as the demand is there.

  • There are no plans for more Concept figures, but they are "in the hopper."

  • As for the missing bar section for the Cantina, they are working to find a retailer.
