Here are a few tidbits of information regarding what 2007 will bring for the popular
Star Wars Miniatures game.
Alliance & Empire is the next set in the line, with 60 new figures, mostly based on the Classic Trilogy. In addition, these figures will now sport a square base. Figures revealed so far include Luke Skywalker (Champion of the Force), Luke Skywalker (Ceremony), Han Solo (Stormtrooper), Darth Vader, Biggs Darklighter, Ephant Mon, Wicket, Spirit Obi-Wan Kenobi, Trandoshan, Princess Leia (Bespin), and Chewbacca (Enraged Wookiee).
In December, look for a new line of game tiles for players to use. Star Wars Galaxy Tiles is listed up at Amazon.com.
There will be a new starter set this year that includes an updated rulebook and 6 minis with what looks like a return to the round bases.
Finally, you know how the delay of the LucasArts video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has put a huge damper on the "Star Wars 07" multimedia crossover that was hyped up all last year? (If you haven't heard, the game is now delayed until 2008, along with the book, the comic, the action figures, and more) Well, it would appear that there was going to be a Miniatures set based on the game as well...which, yep, is now delayed. No word yet on what will replace it.
