Appearing in The Force Awakens, Unkar's thugs were a group of henchmen who worked for Unkar Plutt at Niima Outpost on Jakku. They wore hoods over their humanoid heads and ambushed scavengers that conducted an unauthorized barter or questioned Unkar's authority. The Star Wars wiki states that "They did not realize that despite their disguises, their body language, voices and attitudes made them easily identifiable...The villagers found the thugs' attempts at secrecy amusing..."

The figure shown here was released in 2015 as part of The Force Awakens assortment. Listed as "Unkar's Thug™", he was sold in a multi-pack with fellow weirdo Teedo and BB-8. Unkar's Thug has basic swivel-articulation in the head, shoulders, and legs. He has minimal paint apps on his mask, vest, and gloves.

Unkar's thug is a basic humanoid villain in a mask. And basic is what he is. Not every weirdo alien needs to be brightly colored and unique, it's good to have a few generic guys to round out your scum and villainy. Each of the new Star Wars films has had its backgrounds filled with multiple and varied alien characters such as this one, and we hope Hasbro continues to produce them.
