This auction for a poster printed with 20th Century Fox's permission and used as an invitation for a speech about the marketing of Star Wars is the perfect example. Make no mistake, it is an exceptionally cool piece featuring the work of San Diego artist Bob Watts (not to be confused with the original film's production supervisor) to have in your collection, but it is only worth about a tenth of what the seller is asking. Armed with that information, it is something worth looking at. For more information on this and other rare posters, you should look no further than the 2005 Star Wars Poster Book coauthored by Stephen J. Sansweet and Peter Vilmur.
