Containing four elements - two sticker books, a scaled-down Visual Dictionary and a MINI Poe's X-wing Fighter set - the LEGO Star Wars Adventure Pack comes in a solid slip case that offers protection and storage.

"The LEGO Star Wars Adventure Pack contains a LEGO Star Wars promo model (Poe's X-wing!), a 48 page paperback with content from the LEGO Star Wars Visual Dictionary and two 32 page paperback sticker books that are spin-downs from LEGO Star Wars Mighty Minifigures books. All of this is packed full of plenty of cool facts and information from the original films to the latest movie, The Force Awakens."

Currently this is a DK Australia exclusive, and will be out at the end of November - just out in time for Christmas and priced to become great stocking stuffers.

The two stickers books each have 250 decals (reproduced from Mighty Minifigures Ultimate Sticker Collection) depicting minifigs, accessories, vehicles (Mini, Micro and System-scale) and creatures to decorate scenes from the first six Star Wars movies - the first book's title being "Fall of the Republic" contains backgrounds from the Prequel Trilogy and the Clone Wars while "Fight the Empire" predictably features the Original Trilogy.

The miniaturised Visual Dictionary is billed as a guide to LEGO Star Wars weapons and vehicles, and is largely a reproduction of the first two Visual Dictionaries so if you've already got these you won't be seeing many new sets. Even though the photos are small the clarity isn't reduced, and even with my AFOL eyes the images and text was still all sharp and detailed.

That said their handy digest size means they fit in small people's backpacks so family trips suddenly have an easily accessible element of LEGO Star Wars to them. On a recent Clan LEGOscum trip to the outback, Son of LEGOscum had a solid hour of discussing all the features of the LEGO Star Wars sets that were in the Weapons & Vehicles Visual Dictionary, but declared he was a little old (at eight years) for the sticker book. He later confided that he was saving them to decorate his school jotter and he was sure his little mates would be jealous.

Whenever Son of LEGOscum receives a book from DK, especially when it's a Visual Dictionary, he goes straight to the acknowledgments to see if LEGOscum gets a mention - he was pretty chuffed to find he wasn't being let down by DK with this publication too.

I recognise some of the sets! My daddy took the pictures when I was very little. All of my daddy's LEGO sets are in storage so it's cool that I can see his old sets. He gets grumpy when he thinks about all the LEGO he has had to pack away. I have lots of the LEGO Star Wars books already but I really want a new one with all the sets from The Force Awakens and that movie that's coming out soon.
The inclusion of a MINI scale set is always nice and it's always fun to watch the target audience get stuck into a build. It certainly adds a level of value for money.

I like the X-wing, especially since it is Poe's, and I built it with my daddy. He gets the pieces ready for me while I put them together, and if I have any problems he knows how to help because he has built so many LEGO sets. There are some of the MINI sets that I still don't have and I think that these books should come with new sets like the magazine I get does.

All of the contents are repackaged and as an adult I find it rather repetitive, but Son of LEGOscum enjoys the smaller size of the Visual Dictionary books, and (secretly) gets a kick out of seeing the stickers on the correct backgrounds.
