Thursday, April 11th

Reddit AMA with Jens Kronvold Frederiksen, Creative Director of LEGO Star Wars - 3:30 - 4:30 PM (EDT)

Reddit has officially announced that Jens Kronvold Frederiksen will be doing an AMA (Ask Me Anything) with readers of the r/lego subreddit.

"For those of you unaware, Jens Kronvold Frederiksen is the Creative Director and Lead Model Designer for LEGO Star Wars™.

The current plan is to put a post-up a few hours early so everyone has plenty of time to submit their questions ahead of time and allow the questions people most want answered to be up-voted."

Friday, April 12th

20 years of the LEGO Star Wars Story - A Retrospective and Forward Look - 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM on the Galaxy Stage (Room W374C)

This panel is being kept under wraps but you can expect an appearance by the LEGO Star Wars Creative Director, Jens Kronvold Frederiksen, a look back at over 20 years of design, development and creativity - and if rumours are to be believed the next big UCS reveal.

20 Years of Collecting LEGO Star Wars - 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Collector Stage (Room W474AB)

It was twenty years ago today, there was a company whose name stands for “good play.” They’ve never gone out of style and they’re always guaranteed to raise a smile... Actually it might not be exactly today but it was twenty years ago that two cultural giants, Lucasfilm and the LEGO group, teamed up to create a unique fusion of their respective brands. That initial collaboration in 1999 has grown into the largest Star Wars license with the creation of countless clever products, theme park attractions, video games and even a spinoff television series. Join us as we look back at twenty years of playing well in the Star Wars universe.

The past few years, LEGO Star Wars animation has reached new heights with the brilliant and whimsical series’ LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures and LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars. These original and hilariously fresh perspectives on the galaxy were the brainchild of two men, Bill Motz and Bob Roth. Come with us on a LEGO Star Wars adventure as we go deep into Bill and Bob’s creative process and talk about what it took to bring the Freemakers and All-Stars to life.

Back before the world wide web and social media ruled our shopping habits there was a long-established practice of driving around all the nearby toy stores to hunt down the latest releases. Obviously times have changed and online retail is far more important than it was twenty-five years ago - but has it killed the toy run? What was your shopping experience over the Triple Force Friday product launch weekend?
I managed to find everything I wanted in stores!
I found some but had to resort to big box websites to complete my haul.
I didn't bother stepping outside and ordered everything online.
I haven't bought any of the TFF product yet. Roll on clearance sales.
I'm waiting for the TV series/movie release before I commit.
I've so over it, no more Star Wars collecting for me.
