The good folks at LEGO are auctioning off a pair of Death Star mini-model scenes. These were created exclusively to be sold on eBay and come disassembled with all components glued down. Looks as though it will ship in several large chunks. The sets are 20" long and 10" deep and were constructed for the line of popular mini-ships.

As if all that weren't enough, it also includes a mini X-wing Fighter and Vader TIE Fighter set, both boxed, and a pair of exclusive mini TIE Fighters, also boxed, which have yet to be made available in stores.

The set is an impressive likeness - LEGO naturally lends itself well to the industrial Death Star surface environment - and has such details as the exhaust shaft at the end of the trench and a rotating turreted cannon at the beginning.

While not for the LEGO collector on a budget (is there such a thing as a LEGO collector on a budget?), either of these sets would make an awesome addition to any collection.

A thanks to Mark for the tip.
