Greetings, Rebelscum fans! This week on the site, we’re looking at the Lars homestead where Luke Skywalker grew up. In case you hadn’t heard, a young Luke and his adopted uncle were featured in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. Make sure to stay tuned throughout the week for more articles, insights, videos, and merchandising opportunities about this iconic Star Wars location!

Toche Station, Mos Espa, and the Lars homestead are all background elements that help make Star Wars more empathetic. Luke is growing up and exploring, but he’s eager to leave the safety of his home planet in order to venture out into the stars. We looked at some fun trivia about the Lars Homestead with our Force Facts.

  • The final scene of Revenge of the Sith was originally shot in 2000 during the production of Attack of the Clones. However, Lucas chose to digitally reshoot the sequence in 2003 using a green screen.

  • After being absent from the canon for many years, Fixer finally popped up in The Book of Boba Fett. In “Chapter 2: The Tribes of Tatooine,” he was portrayed by Skyler Bible.

  • Koo Stark, who played Camie in the deleted scenes, originally auditioned for the role of Princess Leia. Although these scenes were buried within the archive for over 30 years, they were restored for the 2011 blu-ray of the first six films. These scenes were described in the 1998 CD-Rom Star Wars: Beneath the Magic, as well as the original A New Hope radio drama.

  • Fixer and Camie action figures are included in the 2010 action figure 2-pack as a Celebration V exclusive. It includes the Empire series comic Darklighter, Part 1, which depicts Biggs’ backstory before the events of the Battle of Yavin.

  • Luke’s landspeeder was the first Star Wars Lego set ever produced in 1999. Since then, there have been several updates in later lines, including the 2022 display model. The 2022 version features 1890 pieces, wildly different from the simple early design!

  • Fixer and Camie are also featured in An Empire Divided, an expansion of the popular MMORPG Star Wars: Galaxies.

  • Tensions between Jawas and Tusken Raiders have been heavily referenced in the Expanded Universe. A playable level of Star Wars: Battlefront allows users to choose a side and engage in the conflict first hand.

  • In the original screenplay for Return of the Jedi, Obi-Wan says that Owen Lars is his brother. This was deemed non-canon, and explained as a potential vision on Obi-Wan’s part. “Owen Kenobi” is also referenced in the young adult book Jedi Apprentice: The Hidden Past.

  • Obi-Wan’s homeworld and family has been one of the secrets of the Star Wars saga since 1977. At Star Wars Celebration V, Lucas joked in an interview that Obi-Wan is from a planet called “Stewjon” during his interview with Jon Stewart. Although it was initially perceived as a joke, Stewjon was later featured in official merchandising items.

  • R2-D2 and C-3PO visit the Lars Homestead in the children’s animated series LEGO Droid Tales, in the episode “Mission to Mos Eisley.”
