Umpass-stay was a male Klatooinian who worked as a drummer and bodyguard for the Max Rebo Band at Jabba's Palace. The character was added to the extended musical number in the 1997 Special Edition of Return of the Jedi. He was portrayed by Miles V. Fawkes, who was picked for the role because of his background and study of Taiko Drumming.

The figure shown here was released in 2007 as part of the 30th Anniversary Collection. He features a removable hood and shoulder armor. His accessories include one half of a large drum, and a large drum stick. The other half of the drum was packed with Ak-Rev, who was released the next year as part of The Legacy Collection. Umpass-stay has 12 points of articulation, with ball-joints in the head, shoulders and ankles, and swivel-articulation in the elbows, wrists, hips, and waist.

There is a ton of detail in the sculpt, and the paint apps are done very well with lots of color. The face in particular benefits from a darker paint wash that highlights all of the folds and wrinkles. Unfortunately, he suffers from a very scene-specific pose. He is permanently hunched over with knees bent, which can limit his play-value and uses in photography. Overall, he is a fun, colorful figure that helps round out any Jabba's Palace display.
